SSH Access
Many users request SSH access to DaDesktop machines in order to simplify the process of connecting from personal laptops or desktops. Naturally, it's often more comfortable to type commands directly in a local terminal rather than working within a remote desktop environment.
While SSH can be technically enabled, we disallow it for these setups because it would unnecessarily expose DaDesktop course machines to substantial security risks.
A drag and drop file file transfer capability has been introduced, allowing files to be effortlessly copied from your own laptop or desktop into the DaDesktop environment. Many earlier requests for full SSH access stemmed from the lack of a file transfer option; with this addition, the platform becomes even more user-friendly.
Furthermore, complete QEMU Spice Desktop support is now available for both Windows and Linux OS templates, greatly simplifying the copying and pasting of commands from your own machine to the DaDesktop session. This works seamlessly even on Mac systems and with non-English character sets.
For DDOP - DaDesktop on Premise servers, SSH access is permitted if required.
